Generate & Manage Test ViewPoints

Overview

1. TestVista supports generating Test viewpoints into following languages: English (default), Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional) before generating test cases:

Test Viewpoint is an abstraction, and a source of test cases, providing a general idea of what needs to be tested
Viewpoint levels exhibit a hierarchical structure within the case tree, organized according to test intentions. This hierarchy encompasses level 1, level 2, and level 3 viewpoints, with the lowest level dedicated to representing the requirements.

4. You can view the viewpoints in either table format or a case tree diagram

Generate and View viewpoints

1. Click 'Generate viewpoints' button on Document Uploading tab. A user prompt shows up:

2. You can select one or multiple test levels or leave them unselected. Similarly, you can provide expectations or detailed guidance for the AI or leave it blank in the user prompt and click 'Process'.

Styled Table

Test Level	If you want to guide the AI in generating test cases by focusing on specific test levels, select one or more corresponding checkboxes. Component Testing (or unit testing), this focuses on testing components in isolation. It often requires support tools like test harnesses or unit test frameworks. Integration Testing focuses on testing the interfaces and interactions between components. System Testing involves evaluating the overall behavior and capabilities of the entire system or product. It includes functional testing of end-to-end tasks and non-functional testing of quality characteristics, as well as testing the interfaces with other systems and external services. Acceptance Testing focuses on validation and demonstrating readiness for deployment, ensuring that the system meets the user's business needs. Ideally, acceptance testing should be performed by the intended users.
User Prompt	You can provide additional input in the prompt to help TestVista combine it with the system prompt for more accurate results. E.g., If you want to focus on specific sections of an uploaded document, such as generating viewpoints for only “screen 1” and “screen 2” among five sections (screen 1, screen 2, screen 3, function 1, function 2), you can specify in the prompt: "Generate viewpoints only for screen 1 and screen 2, including all their components, and disregard other parts." Note: If there is a conflict between the user's input and the system prompt, the system prompt takes priority (e.g., if the system requires generating four mandatory levels of viewpoints (level 1, level 2, level 3, and requirement), and the user requests only two levels, all four levels will still be included.)

Test Level

Acceptance Testing focuses on validation and demonstrating readiness for deployment, ensuring that the system meets the user's business needs. Ideally, acceptance testing should be performed by the intended users.

User Prompt

You can provide additional input in the prompt to help TestVista combine it with the system prompt for more accurate results.

E.g., If you want to focus on specific sections of an uploaded document, such as generating viewpoints for only “screen 1” and “screen 2” among five sections (screen 1, screen 2, screen 3, function 1, function 2), you can specify in the prompt: "Generate viewpoints only for screen 1 and screen 2, including all their components, and disregard other parts."

Note: If there is a conflict between the user's input and the system prompt, the system prompt takes priority (e.g., if the system requires generating four mandatory levels of viewpoints (level 1, level 2, level 3, and requirement), and the user requests only two levels, all four levels will still be included.)

Filter generated Viewpoints

You can filter data in all columns of viewpoints table (including includes level 1 viewpoint, level 2 viewpoint, level 3 viewpoint, and Requirement Name).

Clicking the filter, you can:

Select or deselect one, multiple or all value in the filter list
Input search keyword to narrow down the values available in the filter list
View correct result based on filter function

You can filter data by applying filters to multiple columns simultaneously

You can click on Clear Filters button to clear all selected filters

Delete Requirements

1. Click on dustbin icon at the end of the record that you want to delete in the viewpoints table
2. System displays confirmation pop-up:

3. Click 'OK' to delete the requirement or click 'Cancel' to close the pop-up and keep the requirement.

If the deleted requirement is the last one of its parent viewpoints, then when it is deleted, its parent viewpoint will also be deleted.

Similarly, if the deleted viewpoint is the last one of its parent viewpoints, then when it is deleted, its parent viewpoint will also be deleted.

Edit viewpoints and requirements

1. Select Viewpoints Management tab (viewpoints are already generated)
2. Double click on a field (level 1, level 2, level 3, requirement name), update data in the field and then press enter or click anywhere out of the field (data of the field will be updated)

If the updated information at the child level is duplicated within the same parent level, the system will display an error message.

Add new viewpoints and/or requirements

1. To add a new viewpoint/requirement, click 'Add viewpoint' or (+) button at the end of each requirement on Viewpoints Management tab.

2. Then, system displays 'Create new viewpoints or new requirements' pop-up.
If you click the button at the end of the requirement, the system will automatically fill in level 1, 2, and 3 viewpoints for that requirement.

On the pop-up, you can:

Select existing viewpoints level to add new requirements or create new viewpoint levels with new requirements. You can enter new values in level 1, 2, 3 viewpoint field and press 'enter' for the system to save these values.
(Optionally) enter your expectation of generated requirements into prompt, which will be further processed by AI and press 'AI-generate' button.

View requirements generated by AI. If the requirements do not meet your expectations, you can (optionally) re-enter other content into the prompt and press 'Re-generate' button.

On the same screen, with created requirements, you can:

Click (+) button to manually add new requirement.
Click Dustbin icon to delete requirement
Double click on each requirement to edit value.

Click 'Accept' button to save newly added viewpoints and requirements.

If the updated information at the child level is duplicated within the same parent level, the system will display an error message.

Re-generate viewpoints

If you are not satisfied with the generated viewpoints, the system provides an AI-powered function allowing you to generate alternative viewpoints.

Click 'Regenerate viewpoints' button on Viewpoints Management tab. A prompt will appear, similar to the one shown when generating test viewpoints for the first time:
